About Human Brain Images

The Brain Mapping by Integrated Neurotechnologies for Disease Studies (Brain/MINDS) Project provides a dataset of human brain images obtained with 3T MRI. The dataset includes T1-weighted images of patients with schizophrenia, those with major depressive disorder, and those with bipolar disorder, as well as of healthy controls. This dataset will contribute to promoting research on brain mapping in human psychiatric disorders.

Number of sample data are

schizophrenia: 20

major depressive disorder: 21

bipolar disorder: 16

healthy controls: 97

total: 154

We anonymized MRI data by removing facial features, so that they are incapable of identifying individuals.

This research is conducted according to Ethical Guidelines for Medical and Health Research Involving Human Subjects.

This research has been approved by the Ethical Review Committee of the University of Tokyo, RIKEN, and other collaborative research institutes.
